What is the current lead time?

What kind of filters are used?

We use Hepa Filters that are rated 99.97% efficiency or higher.​​

All units come equipped with a Pre-Filter.
​​

All filters are rated for 3,000 hours of use. However, we do recommend replacing the filters on the smaller models more frequently if they are used often (6 months to 1 year).
What kind of fans are used?

We use 3 different types of fans depending on the model. We use Axial, Centrifugal and Dayton blowers. Each unit has more information listed in the photos (e.g. wattage, voltage, weight, etc.).
What size hoods do you offer?

How can I tell if my flow hood is blowing enough air?
​​

Hold a lighter in front of the flow hood, roughly 3-6 inches away from the face of the filter. The flame should have a 30-90 degree bend.
​​

You can also run regular open air petri dish tests in front of the unit to ensure you are working with the cleanest filter possible.
Do you ship to other countries?

Yes, we do! Please research your voltage requirements. Our units are 110-120v and will require a voltage converter if being used outside of the U.S. We offer voltage converters in our shop. We will not be liable for any damages if you choose not to purchase a converter direct. Please message us if you have any questions.

How much is a custom engraving?

We are not currently offering custom engravings.
How long do the filters and fans last?
​

The filters are rated for up to 3,000 hours.

The fans are rated for 30,000 hours.
​​

All fans are covered for 1 year from the date of purchase.
What maintenance does my flow hood need?
​​

We recommend replacing the filters about every 6 months to one year depending on frequency of use. Routine cleanings will optimize results and prolong the longevity of your filter.

We recommend getting inside of the unit and cleaning it every few months. This can be achieved by using a vacuum to suck out any debris that may have accumulated inside.

Return Policy:

We do not accept returns or refunds after 48 hours of purchase. This is due to needing to continuously purchase supplies. It is extremely difficult for us to offer full refunds once supply purchases have been made. If you want to cancel, please do so within 48 hours. This can be achieved by contacting support. If you are granted a full refund after 48 hours, you will be responsible for a 5% payment processing fee. This is non-negotiable.

If a unit has been returned to us due to an item being undeliverable, you WILL be responsible for any additional shipping charges accrued during re-shipment. ALL FLOW HOOD ORDERS REQUIRE A SIGNATURE AT DELIVERY. Please keep this in mind when ordering!

Warranty:

The warranty program is our commitment to you. We ensure that all products are free from defects in manufacturing for a period of one year from the date of purchase. This includes the unit, filter and fan. If a product is found to a have a defect in the material or workmanship, we will take the appropriate actions defined in this warranty to resolve the issue.

The warranty program applies to any flow hood units manufactured or sold by Lab Rat Flow Hoods. The program covers products that have become defective, malfunctioned, or determined to be unusable to our standards. If your product is defective within the one-year time frame, we will replace the item.
​

The warranty does not cover abuse or misuse of the item. Including but not limited to, physical damage, submersion of water, incorrect installation, incorrect voltage input and any misuse for any reason other than the intended purposes. Lab Rat Hoodz is not responsible for consequential loss or incidental damage caused by said actions. We will not warranty any damage from normal wear and tear such as dings and scratches.
